Chemical Investment Banking
The Valence Group is a specialist investment bank offering M&A advisory services to companies and investors exclusively in the chemicals, materials and related sectors in chemical investment banking .
Our team comprises senior investment banking and industry specialists with many years of experience in our focus sectors. We act as a single, cohesive team leveraging our collective expertise for the benefit of our clients.
We have a full service investment banking origination and execution capability with offices in London, New York and Shanghai, and offer the benefits of a truly global presence, experience and contact base.
Our clients operate in specialised sectors each having specific cycles, dynamics and participants. These unique characteristics require equally specialised strategic and transactional advice – ‘generalist’ M&A advisers are simply not qualified to optimise the outcome for their clients.
Our experience encompasses over 200 closed chemicals and related M&A transactions with a combined value in excess of $80 billion. We have first-hand experience of the issues, dynamics and participants in over 100 sub-sectors, both ‘specialty’ and ‘commodity’ to satisfied customer.
We have first hand transaction experience of not just one but multiple product cycles.
We are independent and therefore free of the potential conflicts of interest inherent in a ‘multi-product’ bank.
GENDER, BODIES AND TECHNOLOGY
This upcoming conference, scheduled for April 22-24, 2010, at the historic Hotel Roanoke in Roanoke, Virginia, will showcase scholarship that explores the role of technologies, broadly defined, in constructing, reinforcing and destabilizing gendered bodies. As an assemblage of people and technologies, we view the conference itself as an enactment of this theme. Proposals for presentations, including performance art and new media as well as traditional text-based formats, are welcome from scholars in all disciplines. The topics that we anticipate exploring include, but are by no means limited to: new media and feminist aesthetics; gendered in/security and technologies of surveillance; technologies of development and eco-feminism; and the gendered production, design and deployment of technologies.
